I have fished the marshes of South Louisiana for 30 years and want to congratulate you on making the best, yes, the BEST, jig heads available for specks and redfish.
I traveled over an hour just yesterday to the Academy store in Slidell, LA to buy some to give for Christmas presents. I have not been able to find a place to order them over the internet but now that I found your website with a vendors list, I may call around and ask about a mail order arrangement. I use the shad heads for all the artificials whether H&H or salt water assassins. My personal preferences are the 094501 1/4 oz. (no spring and no weed guard) and the same head in 1/8 oz. What is so unique is that you use a really good forged, plated hook of a decent size. It may seem counter-intuitive to some, but to the knowledgeable fisherman the lighter jig head is used in very shallow water for reds (up to 10 lbs is common). The lighter head with a strong hook is not easy to find here. I so often find that people want to supply a flimsy hook with a light-weight jig head. Just doesn't work for redfish!
I would be curious to view your soft plastic line up if you know of any vendors displaying those on the internet. I have not seen anything other than the jig heads in our Academy stores, but I am duly impressed with what I have found. The urge to give these comes from forgetting my tackle box in my truck and riding with a friend for two hours for fishing. I was forced to use what he had available and was not happy with the choices. He will receive some of the Hogie's heads for a Christmas gift, as will my brother. Thanks for a quality product at a fair price, a rare commodity these days!
Sincerely,
Dennis DesRoches

Dear Guys at Hogies:
I've been salt-water fishing my whole life, now at age 65, and 4 by-pass heart surgeries I've finally found a hook-jig head combination that works, simply put, it does what it's supposed to do--CATCH FISH. I use it with "Power-Pro" braided line. These heads have increased my catch ratio by 50% ... and once hooked they're staying hooked ... anyone who fishes for speckeled trout knows how they come to the surface, shaking their heads, trying to get off.
Ya'll keep up the good work!

Hello, my name is John Thomasson, and I would like to thank Hogie's for all the great trout, red fish, and flounder that I have caught since I was a kid. By the way I'm now 34 years old. The lure of my choice is your strw/mf/mh. On a Hogie 1/4 oz. jig head I really kill red fish on this lure. I fish San Louis pass and bays often. I've fished this area all my life and have experimented with different lures. I've had the most success with Hogie's. If possible I would like to buy a case or three of these lures. Please let me know if that'd be possible. Please don't stop making my favorite red fish killer.

I have been using Hogie lures almost exclusively for over 10 years. While most of my fishing is in the Bayside, Aransas Pass area, I have consistently caught fish from Baffin Bay up to Matagorda on Hogie plastics. One cold January morning, 3 of us each had a limit of speckled trout in less than an hour. I think the hand-painted tails are brighter and make a difference for us in off-colored water.

I have been using Hogie Lures for 25 years. I have found these lures to be well-constructed. The variety of colors offered by Hogie's Fishing Lures is an absolute necessity for catching fish in different shades of water. The best thing about the lures is that they catch fish!
